Why did you join aKDPhi?
I wanted to join an organization that I believe would push me to my fullest potential and provide me a platform where I can make an impact on the community. When I first discovered aKDPhi, I saw that not only did my beliefs and ideals line up with each of the pillars, but that the sxsters were open-minded and inclusive. I wanted to be surrounded by empowering womxn who are proud of all aspects of their identity. I also enjoyed the sxsterhood aspect and wanted to find my second home on campus.
How has your time in aKDPhi helped/improved/challenged you?
I believe that aKDPhi helped me to become more confident in myself, whether it be professionally, academically, or in my personal life. I grew more confidently in terms of public speaking, making connections with people outside of our organization, as well as leading in the positions I have held thus far. aKDPhi has challenged me through learning how to collaborate with individuals of diverse leadership and communicative styles.
Positions Held in aKDPhi: Asian-Awareness Co-Chair and Performance Co-Chair (Spring 2020), Public Relations-Internal (Spring 2019)
