What I Enjoy: I like cooking, I try to cook as much as possible--especially because the nursing school is so far from home. I also like watching documentaries about nature, specifically about the ocean--even though those animals in the deep are scary/ I also really like to watch Netflix. My favorite shows as of currently is Black Mirror, Friends, The Office, Jane the Virgin. I also try to read as much as possible--send books my way!
What I Aspire: After graduating from the Nursing School, I do want to go into Pediatric Oncology. I want to focus on children with cancer and hope I can land a job at the Children Hospital of Wisconsin.
Why did you join aKDPhi?
I joined aKDPhi because I was feeling very much alone. My friendships had fallen apart and it was taking such a huge toll in my life. I was super sad and very much on my own. When I found aKDPhi, I felt the love immediately and knew that it was where I wanted to be. The womxn I met were so warm and welcoming to who I was as individual and wanted to get to know me as a person. They loved who I was and accepted my flaws.
How has your time in aKDPhi helped/improved/challenged you?
If anyone knew me, I have a hard time speaking my thoughts and using my voices, which would leave me unhappy about outcomes. Being aKDPhi it has given me a voice and taught me what type of leader I am. I thank my biggie, Kimberly "maggNOlia" Vue, for teaching me how to utilize my voice for what I believe in. I'm growing everyday and I know it is only possible within my sxsterhood.
